Frequently Asked Questions & Expectations

Here, we cover everything you need to know before working with us, that way there are no surprises.

About Our Business Practices

Our business practices may be different from what you’re used to in the past. Learn more below.

Do you do contracts / term agreements?

With Evergrow, you’re not locked into a several-month or year-long contract. We offer services on a month-to-month basis. If you’re unhappy or unimpressed with the results you’re getting, you can fire us the same month with no additional fees. The flip side also applies — if our relationship becomes disrespectful or abusive, we may decide to end things as well.

What type of businesses do you work with?
We have deep roots in the landscaping and lawn care industry. However, we also have experience in automotive, finance, healthcare, and other home services as well (Jake and Cody met while working at an automotive advertising agency). Basically, if your business relies on leads and inbound inquiries, there’s a good chance we can help.

Additionally, we work with businesses that desire and prepare for healthy, steady growth. One of our favorite problems is when a client tells us to pause their advertising campaigns because they’re overflowing with work. We want to grow and assume you do too.

Lastly, we have experience with ecommerce as well, but it is not our specialty, so only take on limited ecommerce clients.

What size of businesses do you work with?
We primarily work with small businesses. It depends on your expectations, but our clients generally generate $150K – $5M in gross revenue.
What does the onboarding process look like?

After you contact us, we will set up a call to learn more about your business. Assuming we’re a good fit for each other, we’ll then send an agreement detailing the scope of work, payment, and expectations. Once both parties have signed, we’ll issue an invoice and begin work upon payment.

Next, we will send you a thorough onboarding document that details the information and resources we need to deliver a satisfactory product and maximize your marketing results. We may ask to have another call requesting more information if the onboarding document is insufficient.

Once we have everything we need, expect radio silence while we set up your website and analytics strategy.

When we’re done, depending how your services are structured, we’ll either send everything over to you or schedule a screenshare to review and get your feedback. After any revisions, we’ll issue a second invoice for the completion of your website and / or analytics strategy setup, send everything live, then begin monthly marketing.

The entire onboarding process takes roughly 6 weeks, but can take longer depending on the season and if we experience any unexpected roadblocks with your account.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cards, checks, and PayPal.
What's the best way to contact you?
Our primary method of communication is email. We ask to schedule phone calls in advance so we have time to review your topic and get every necessary team member included on the call as well.
What happens if I cancel services?
If you decide to cancel marketing services, you can downgrade to a website maintenance-only plan. If you want to discontinue services with us entirely, we can send your website files to whoever you decide to work with next. Please note that, if you discontinue services with us entirely, you or your next service provider will become fully responsible for website maintenance including troubleshooting if your website goes down, conducting regular backups, monitoring for security hacks, and so on.

Your website files, Google services including Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile and any other directly-claimed local citation profiles that we help set up for you are yours to take with you. Any advertising accounts (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc.) will remain ours — our marketing strategy works because we rely on aggregating advertising data across accounts, so while we give you limited access to your advertising accounts for the duration in which you do marketing services with us, we retain this data if or when you leave.

How do I discontinue services?
Please notify us via email. We will finish out the month in which we receive your cancellation email.

About Our Websites

We never set out to be a web design company. We started building websites because our clients needed them. Early on, we saw a trend — when we build websites, they tend to convert better and drive more leads than websites built by somebody else.

Do you offer custom web design?

It depends what you mean by “custom”. We have made — and are constantly refining — themes depending on the size and services offered by our clientele. Brand messaging, color schemes, and images are personalized to provide a unique feel for your business. Some additional customizations can be done for a fee on top of your program price. But at the end of the day, we are marketers first and web designers second. If you want a truly, 100% custom website design, we can provide you with some excellent referrals — just be prepared to pay 5 times as much (or more) for it.

Can I just get a website, or do I have to sign up for your marketing program too?
We offer one-time website builds as well. Keep in mind that we prioritize marketing clients over one-time website builds.
I already have a website. Can I keep it and use it for your marketing program?
It depends. We’ll take a look at your current website but may recommend starting fresh.
Do I have to supply images for the website?
We highly recommend providing at least some images for your website (that you have the legal authority to use — do not supply images for which you do not own or have permission to use). People like seeing real, local photos. The more images you provide, the better the final result will be. However, if you do not have any, we have a wide variety of high quality stock photos available.
Do I have to write my own website content?
No. During the onboarding process, we gather all of the information we need to write your website content for you. If you’re unhappy with the content we have written, we may ask for your feedback on how to improve it. Unfortunately, we are not mind readers, so we rely on your feedback to fine-tune the messaging to match your company voice.
How do I make edits to my website?
You can log in to the backend of the website and make the edits yourself, or you can contact us and we’ll make them for you. Even if you only get a website build, we have maintenance programs for this purpose. If you are marketing with us, we ask that you please let us know before making any changes as it may affect the performance of your account.
Do you set up company emails?
We do not host emails. For a one-time fee, we will set you up with Google Workspace so you can manage all of your emails there. We’re also happy to answer any questions you may have on using Google Workspace, since it is what we use as well.
Do I own my domain name or does Evergrow?

You do. Some digital marketing agencies will buy your domain for you to make your life easier, then hold it hostage when you try to leave. It’s a little inconvenient, but we will not buy your domain for you. If you don’t have a domain already, we recommend buying your domain through Hover.

About Our Marketing

We’re obsessed with getting you the best results for your marketing budget. We don’t care about trends or fluffy metrics like “impressions”. We’re focused on getting you more customers, period. Everything else is just noise.

Do I have to sign up for your marketing program or do you offer customized plans?

The short answer is yes, you do. Custom plans are only offered in special circumstances. We work really hard to design marketing services that are mutually profitable. If we always offered custom plans, this would be very hard to do.

How will I know if / when you're doing SEO on my website?
If the updates are clearly visible to people / users, we will ask for your approval before submitting them. We also notate all of our SEO optimizations, so we can keep track of what’s working. This information is always available to you.
How will I know your marketing is working?
We use Google Analytics to track your website’s performance. All marketing accounts receive a report every month explaining how many phone calls, emails, and contact form submissions they received. We also offer optional monthly phone calls to discuss and review performance.
When can I expect results?
It depends what you mean by results. Seasonality can have a major impact on the timing of results. Advertising methods (such as Google Ads and Facebook Ads) start working as soon as we turn them on. SEO typically takes 2 – 3 months to start seeing results. The most noticeable improvements are seen year-over-year.
How soon can I rank on the first page of Google?
Being on the first page of search results only matters if people click, convert, and turn into customers for your business. As a result, we do not fixate on rank. We only pay attention to rank to the extent that it impacts more important things such as website traffic, conversion rate, and leads.
Do you do Facebook Ads?
Yes, but not as a stand-alone service. We offer Facebook Ads in addition to The Foundation.
Do you do blogging?
Yes. We don’t always recommend it, though. Blogging may be overkill depending on your goals, so we may recommend prioritizing other tactics before blogging.
